Dr. Leah Onyango serves as a Senior Lecturer within the School of Planning and Architecture at Maseno University.
Her educational background includes a doctoral degree in Planning, a master’s degree in Planning, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization in Geography.
Dr. Onyango assumed the role of Department Chair for Urban and Regional Planning at Maseno University, a position she held for a decade. Prior to her academic career, she held positions as a Senior Lands Officer and a Senior Physical Planning Officer from 1989 to 2003.
Dr. Leah Onyango actively engages in extensive interdisciplinary research spanning areas such as Poverty Dynamics, Property Rights, Natural Resource Management, Climate Change, and Policy, both at the local and international levels.
Additionally, she has established herself as a long-term consultant for CG centers such as ICRAF and ILRI. Locally, she dedicates her efforts to community development initiatives focused on environmental conservation and youth empowerment.
