Dr Brigid Monda

Dr. Monda is a well-articulated and diligent medical professional who approaches her work with a strong commitment and enthusiasm. She demonstrates innate leadership qualities and works collaboratively as a team player, showing unwavering dedication to the causes and services she supports.
At present, she holds the position of a Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Kenyatta University and serves as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

Dr. Monda actively participates in various community service initiatives. Her involvement includes mentoring medical students and young doctors, as well as organizing and assisting in medical camps, symposiums, and conferences. She also engages in the organization and participation of free medical camps for various organisations, including churches and corporate entities, all while actively advocating for cervical cancer awareness.

Notably, Dr. Monda has an extensive history of leadership, having served as a director and board member of the National Standards Council and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

She has also played a crucial role in facilitating a range of training programs, including contributions to the AMREF Distant Education Medical Program for paramedics, the Media Training Program conducted by the Population Council of Kenya, and Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care training as part of the Marie Stopes-RAISE program.

Dr. Monda holds an impressive educational background, possessing a Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, alongside a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery (Mb.Ch.B), all acquired from the University of Nairobi.

She maintains active membership in various professional organisations, including the Kenya Medical Association, Kenya Medical Women’s Association, and Kenya Obstetrics & Gynaecology Society (KOGs).

Furthermore, Dr. Monda has authored numerous publications, primarily in her role as a Medical Consultant and health columnist. Her exceptional ability to seamlessly merge medical science with effective communication allows her to create informative and creative content, particularly on health-related topics for the general public.
