Delegates from Nairobi City participated in the second Breathe Cities Workshop held from 13 to 15 May 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The workshop brought together 21 representatives from cities including Accra, Johannesburg, London, Milan, Nairobi, Rio de Janeiro, Ekurhuleni, Fortaleza, Freetown, and Tshwane to explore the activities required to sustain long-term progress toward ambitious air quality policy objectives. Participants shared lessons from past successes and challenges and worked to strengthen their cities’ long-term action plans. For the Nairobi team, a key takeaway was the critical insight on sustaining the gains achieved through the Breathe Cities Initiative, which has since sparked ongoing internal and partner discussions focused on long-term impact and sustainability.
